Backup and restore question

I did a back up on my phone. I am wondering if I can now do a "reset and erase" on my phone, and use that back-up file to put on the apps back on my phone, along with my saved settings. Is that how it works?

That's how it worked when I had to do a restore on my E70-2. I used the most recent backup file I'd created in Nokia's PC Suite (now you'd probably be using Ovi Suite), and I believe I only had to manually obtain maybe two applications again. Other than that all my settings, applications, contacts, messages, etc. were restored.

yeah, it worked OK. I had to reinstall 3 apps, and non of the navigation programs on my SD card reinstalled, so i have to reinstall those also. I guess its better than having to reinstall everything though, thanks
