well today I went to the store because my phone is acting up. I was planing on getting a 3GS my very first I phone. I have been with ATT for over 6 years and this would of been my first smart phone come to find out they no longer offer the unlimited data plan for the smart phones. They only offer 2 gig and that is it.
well i called ATT when I got home to talk to someone about working something out to get unlimited data and the lady i spoke to was very very rude and told me that if i didnt like it I could cancel my phones and look else where. What a great business. they are so FAST to get you off the phone or get rid of you as a customer.
guess im going to be looking for a new service and drop ATT for 2 reasons there poor customer service and lack of data they offer
Thanks ATT for making this decision easy

That's just too bad, unfortunately. If you had signed up with a smartphone earlier and added the Unlimited Data Plan, you would have been grandfathered into the upgrade to the 3GS. You then could have kept the plan. But I hope you have better plans/business elsewhere. Believe me, it's not always fair.

Yeah that is what I heard but I did not need a phone and it was not time for me to upgrade. not much I could of done unless I paid full price for the I phone and that was NOT going to happen

Right. iPhone's can be very expensive out-of-pocket. I guess there's nothing further that you can do, unless you went with the 2GB DataPro plan, but that's only if you use less than 2GB of data per month.

Ahhhh, I see how that could be a problem. Yep, it's sort of unfair. Maybe AT&T should ONLY offer the Unlimited Data Plan to NEW iPhone/smartphone customers. Because this would have been your first smartphone, you would have been eligible for the Unlimited Plan.

Yep. It does seem that way... ![]()
Which is pretty sad, actually.

I wish ATT would give that option of having unlimited data for $30. $15/200mb, $25/2gb, & $30/unlimited. That would be so ideal.. ![]()

Gotta love how they say that the lower plans are because the average customer only uses a small amount of data each month. Yet on the other end they make plane pricing so customer un-friendly, which has sadly spread to other carriers (though verizon 'currently' still has its unlimited plan). You'd think it would be a simple matter for ATT to find out who the data hogs are and deal with it on a case by case basis.
Of course, in the end it's much easier to limit everyone, than improve hardware company wide......

This $20 for 200 and $25 for 2GB is ATT tryin to squeeze every last buck outta u. Grant it,there is abuse. People useing too much data. But all they gotta do is put a cap on whats reasonable. If youre using 10 GB,youre not playin fair. Thats abuse. They could certainly offer more GB for your money though. Some of us just wanna stream Netflix without having to pay prices like we went to the movies!
Tiltorama how trooo! I tried watchn a movie on my phone but drives me nuts when i can stream it right here on my computer. One occassion when it did come in handy for me: i was returning from out of town and was sitting in airport waiting for a delayed flight connection. .
