I am cancelling my service and still within my 30 day warranty but i dont wanna pay full price for the phone. i love the nokia lumia 920 and want to keep it. .can i give them back a htc one x..brand new, in it s place?

NO. You have to return the phone that you used for the upgrade or pay for it, you can't trade.
Actually, the trial period reduced to 14 days several months ago.

If you're past AT&T's 14 day trial period and really want to keep the Lumia, simply cancel your service and pay the ETF and the phone is yours.
