accepting collect calls

I have a family member who is in a correctional institution and I need to know if I can accept calls on my cell phone and if so, how do I get it set up. 

Any information would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks!

Sorry but none of the cell phone companies allow collect calls to cell phones.  You might look into an 800# forwarding service.  Just google it.

You can have a land line forwarded to your cell phone.  Then you can accept collect calls.  They will be billed to the landline number.

Most correctional institutions will not allow toll-free numbers to be dialed.  If the one in question will, a toll-free number set to ring to your cell phone is easy to set up.  I use Kall8.

I have no idea if VOIP lines can accept collect calls.  I would look into that.

call customer service. There is a prepaid service that you can use, but I cannot remember the name off the top of my head.
