I have an unlocked iPhone 3gs that I've used on TMobile for a few years now. I love my phone and don't want to upgrade to the 4 or the 5 when it comes out...I just really really like everything about this phone. Maybe one day I'll upgrade but for now this is good with me.
Anyway, I would like to switch to AT&T--the coverage at TMobile is pretty lousy, which hasn't been a concern because I have a landline too, but not having data roaming is a major pain.
I found a plan at AT&T that I like, and the 3GB data package, and I'm not sure if I want the texting package or just pay per message...
But my question is, my credit is lousy right now...I'm just starting divorce proceedings, husband hasn't worked in ages so we were behind on the mortgage, yadda yadda yadda... I don't have any outstanding utility bills or phone bills or anything like that though, just with lazy-man's issues, my credit score is in the 500's ![]()
Does anyone have any idea what my potential deposit might be if I switch to AT&T? Also, how does it work since I have my own phone I want to use. (I thought I'd ask here so I don't go into the store and embarass myself lol)
Thanks in advance for your help.

First visist an at&t store. Apply for for a line and see what they say. If they see that your credit is not good they will most likely ask ou to put a deposit (amount will be detrmined by them at that time). If you want to move your number over, then let see what you need to do first about qualifying for a new postpaid account.
