I purchased a new Iphone5 last week and renewed my contract with ATT. The new phone has constant "No Sim" errors and everytime I do get it reregistered I only get the E? Network or no service at all. I'm tired of having to contact ATT everyday to reregister it. My question is, since it is ithin 14 days, do I go to Verizon first to make sure the number is transferred or do I return phone to the store and have service cancelled? I just want to make sure I keep my current number. Any advice appreciated, thanks
PS , I know this is not the correct board to post to, but it is the only one that it would allowme to select, hopefully somebody will see it here.

You are best to return the phone and go back to your old phone until your contract is fulfilled, then port to the other provider.
If you cancel the contract, you cannot port the number out. If must be active to be ported.
If you contract is fulfilled, it would still be best to return the new phone because if the port is done after the 14 days, you will be responsible for the Early Termination Fee.
