My in-laws currently have two older non-Smartphone flip-phones that they rarely use; they use a combined less than 100 minutes per month if that much. Last month my father-in-law only used 5 minutes on his phone. They are primarily for emergency use since they are both in their mid-80's.
They are on two separate individual plans (old business plans that his company paid for when he was working) so they pay between $50-$60 per month for very little usage.
Is there a way that they could switch their plans to the 10 cent per minute plan so they can just pay for the minutes they use each month? If so, could they use their same phones, or would they have to get some type of GoPhone to use that type of plan? Would they have to sign a 2-year contract to make this change, or would this just be a month-to-month type of plan?
Any help or suggestions as to what they can do to just pay as they go with AT&T would be appreciated.

Switching to prepaid sounds like a very good option in this scenario.
