My number was ported from AT&T to Verizon without my consent. I have spent over 4 hours on the phone with AT&T trying to correct the problem. I was instructed to file a police report and get back in touch with them. I filed the report, and when I called AT&T back they stated there was nothing that they could do. Now I am stuck with an Early Termination Fee. Now what? I am just stuck paying an ETF and losing my account? I am very tempted to pull all my accounts with AT&T. I have 6 wireless numbers, 2 home lines, and 2 internet accounts. Unacceptable!

"Ren: Now listen, Cadet. I've got a job for you. See this button? Don't touch it! It's the History Eraser button, you fool!
Stimpy: So what'll happen?
Ren: That's just it. We don't know. Maybe something bad, maybe something good. I guess we'll never know, 'cause you're going to guard it. You won't touch it, will you?"

think about - someone has all the information on your account to do this, it just does not hapen by giving the carrier the number, you need to figure out who and how - talk to verizon since the target carrier initiates the port request

If you ported the number back to AT&T, I think that they will waive the ETF. Have you asked to have the number ported back to AT&T?

I have spent many hours on the phone with Verizon as well and they stated there was nothing they could do since the account was not in my name at Verizon.

The number can not be ported back since I do not have the information on the Verizon account number, even with the police report in hand stating the information and phone number were stolen from me.
