So I added an old iPhone 3gs that I own and has been sitting dormant since Igot my 4S. I moved from the Family talk 700, to the 6gig Shared data plan.

Question: Should this affect my contract end date?

No, switching phones does not affect your contract end date.
getting a subsidized phone changes contract date and sometimes late payments will change contract dates, but not just switching phones.

That's what I thought, but my "End of Contract" date is now 2 yrs out from the other day when I added my old iPhone and switched to the shared data plan. Looks like it back to the AT&T store...sigh
