Whoops Sent this without a message.
Anyone experience battery drain on their cell associated with the small magnets that are used to close the flap on some holsters? I'm on my fourth replacement phone (this one a different model) and have had a consistent problem with the battery rapidly (like in a few hours) running to the point of low alert.
This has happened with very low use (1-2 short calls a day)and even with new batteries installed. I turned Bluetooth off and didn't use the ticker on my Motorola V557. It seems to now be occuring with my new LG CU400 too.
Any ideas would be of help. I like my holster but will give it up if it means that I can quit replacing phones!

I've been using a case with a magnetic clasp since day 1 on my 8125 and have never experienced battery drain from it. Even now -- after pulling emails from my ISP server every hour, weather updates every 1/2 hour, occasional web browsing and 1/2 hour or so of phone calls, my battery is still at 75% - 80% charge when I get home from work.
I'd say there's another reason for your sudden drop in battery power. . . maybe heavy WiFi use or programs running in the background that haven't been closed, etc., etc. . .

Well, then my only explanation is a series of incredible lemons because my phone use is minimal.

How often do you charge the battery?? Do you keep the phone on the wall charger overnight -- every night -- to start out with a full charge every morning.??

There was an issue many many moons ago with the v551 that cause the phone to not properly charge the battery. You could charge the battery in another of the v-series phones (v500, v505 or v600) and it would last all day or more... but try to charge it in the v551 and no-go. I know that the v551 and v557 phones are similar, but I cannot conceive that the charging issue still exsts.

I agree, I'd suspect a phone/battery problem for one or even two devices... but for four? Since it's 'still barely' under warranty, I'd contact Motorola directly, explain your situation and see what, if anything, they can/will do.

If you are in an area with poor reception the drain on the battery increases significantly. My wife works in the lower levels of a hospital OR and has little to no reception there. The phone sits in her locker and if she doesn't turn it off it needs recharging almost daily.
