AT&T, Don't Change Your Forum!

This is my request to AT&T.  Don't change your forum from Lithium forums, please.  T-Mobile and VZW both dropped Lithium to go to Jive.  I like Lithium better, and some of those forum users seem to agree. 

If it ain't broke, don't fix it!

VZ's problem was not switching over to the new look that ATT has now.  I stayed away from over there because it was hard on the eyes!

Were you here when ATTs forum looked like VZs?

Wireless used to look a lot like VZs main page, with subjects scattered everywhere.  The look they have now is what UVs side always looked like (so blame us, LOL!).

I feel it has improved greatly and it's a lot easier to navigate.  Plus they DO make changes here, but gradually.

Subjects scattered everywhere? That is still true now on this forum. Plus all the information at the top of each section describing what it is about is such a waste of space and a waste of time to have to scroll down through every single time.

I will never understand why the wireless and uverse have the general support area named exactly the same with the same topic headers. I laugh everytime I read a landline or a uverse question that is starting in the wireless side. It seems like a lot of people don't take the time to read what section of the forum that they are about to create their post in.

Wish I had a screenshot to show what it used to look like, but it was bad (sorry, Wireless).

Yeah, people don't read, or are new to forums in general.  The Uverse side sees posts for Wireless or DSL all the time and they have to get moved.

All I can say is, I've seen worse forums!

So, did they finally change over on VZ?  Last time I looked, it was still the same w/Lithium?

I totally agree with Ann154...this place is a MESS!! There are SO many moved threads...people really should think about WHERE they should put their inital post. Maybe there should be a totally separate board JUST for first time posters...and from there, the threads can me moved to where they belong...who knows??  All I know, is that this place need some cleaning up BADLY!!

Ann, that makes me laugh too when I see a question about a landline or dsl put here in wireless.

As for "EASY TO NAVIGATE"?? To ME, I don't think so. I get here thru my email...

Finding guidelines or any of ATT's info is nearly next to impossible for me to locate. It USED to be MUCH easier to navigate than it is now...sorry.

@Ann, yes I saw his post about Jive, but I ended up at the old Lithium forum (several days ago).

@DC, well, I guess it's what you get used to.  I find Wireless much easier to navigate now, only thing I don't like is we used to be able to mark all topics in a board as Read; now you have to do each topic if you want a zero slate.

But I think landline used to be part of the Wireless forum, IIRC?  Now they've decided since Uverse is a landline product (though it has Wi-Fi TV boxes now), that's where they are supposed to go.

We had one this morning asking about unlocking an iPhone, but was also posted in Wireless 3x.

I hope they don't combine all the forums, we'd never be able to wade through!  Wireless + Uverse + DSL + Business + ConnecTech = Mass Confusion!

One thing I will say, the ATT.com site in general is very confusing, even for people who are familiar with the site.

The Verizon Residential community is still on the Lithium platform.

The Verizon Wireless community has changed its website address and moved to the Jive platform.

The two communities have been two separate forums for over a year and a half. Now they are separated even more by using two different platforms.

Tell me more about what you think needs to be structured differently or organized in another way. Is there information you think should be made more visible?

New community members posting things in the wrong location is a reality of forum life. If you have suggestions on how to help, my "door" is open but it's not something we'll be able to curb entirely.

Agree with Ann154 in having the same categories (General Support and Billing) in all 3 forums makes it really confusing.

It's even more confusing if you use the community search feature and the posts aren't even marked which forum they are in. I liked the old search feature much better and don't even use the new one because I can't tell where the posts are located.

Suggest including the particular forum behind the posts as can be seen below. While I added them in red text they could be listed in parentheses (Wireless), (U-verse), (Internet & DSL) or even blue text to match the title.

I apologize for not coming back to this thread!  I see that some changes are starting to be made, but keeping the same platform.  This is good.  However, is it going to stay as it is with just OS platform forums, without any sub-forums?  I would like to see Android Discussions, then sub-fourms for General, HTC One X, Samsung Skyrocket, etc.  One big forum for the many different Android phones could become very confusing.
