1) when travelling abroad (Europe - France) if someone calls me and I do not answer the phone (and the person calling me does not leave a voice message) am i charged roaming for this unanswered call?
2) i have an iphone 4. If i turn on the call forwarding feature and forward my calls to my homephone here in the US am I guaranteed that i will not be charged roaming for any incoming call while i am abroad (even if someone leaves me a voice message)?
3) international data and voice plans are not prorated anymore right? So if i travel dec/15 and come back dec/23 (buying international data add-on one day before travelling) and when i come back cancel the add-on. Lets say i bought 300MB data and 30minutes voice and that i used exactly all this during the period from dec/15 to dec/23. The add-on will cover all this usage right?

- Yes. If the phone is on and there is a call to your number once the call hits the international system you are charged by that international carrier.
- As long as you activate the immediate call forwarding then there would be no charge to you, as for the voicemail they leave that would be on your home voicemail not the wireless phone.
- More info can be found here for Call Fowarding.
- Unfortunately they are prorated Information Source. Also Billing for international roaming usage may be delayed up to three billing cycles due to reporting between carriers
- More info can be found here for International Services

Thank you for the reply! AT&T rep told me the data plans are no longer prorated (but everytime i am told something slightly different).... and there is no clear information in the website. If it is prorated it makes no sense. You have to buy your data plan in advance before travelling... so if I buy it today i will only have 300MB x 18 days / 31 days of data to use? It is a shame that when i contact At&t i cannot get the same answer... and that there is no clear information in the website...

Best bet, reset call timer/data usage to 0 on the phone, take usage while traveling, if the first invoice shows 90% or more of the usage, remove the international feature if not keep it on, better safe than sorry.
