I recently upgraded 4 family phones to iPhone 5 in November 2012. We switched from ATT to Sprint. When I called ATT, I asked for the date our contract expired. We switched that day. In December, I received a bill from ATT for ETF's of $324.51. When I contacted ATT, the response was we switch 1 day to early and I should have asked for the date to switch with no penalties. After 2 years of making payments on 4 iPhones this is how I am treated? By my records, they have all of my payments for the 24 months of service. Now I am receiving nasty letters about a third party collection agency with a legal rate of 18% and a negative reference on credit report. I will never again be an ATT customer and friends and family will hear about my story.

I'm sorry you received the wrong information. It sounds like you were given your upgrade eligibility date rather than your contract expiration date.
You're welcome to PM ATTCustomerCare as I noted able.

Please check your private messages (upper right hand corner, blue blinking envelope).
I see that Roy replied to your message on 2/7 stating that you would receive a call within 72 hours regarding your concerns.
I also see that Tom, the manager assigned to your case, sent you an email on 2/7 at approximately 5:30.
Please let me know if you have not received those emails (or the private message) so I can let Tom know.

Hi Can you please help me? I am wrongly being charged ETF it looks like and I got collection letters in the mail 3 years later from ATT(AFNI). I verified zero balance with att after I made final payment and my contract had ended when I left ATT. I am getting nowhere through phone calls. I just sent a PM to link you posted.
