I totally agree that ATT has the worst customer care....for these reasons......
My husband bought the ATT mobile hotspot (wifi), and yes we had to sign up for the wireless plan that was offered to us. Dataconnect 5 GB for LTEmobile Hotspot and Laptop connect. We took it home and started using it the next day, not realizing that when i play bingo on-line, that uses ALOT of data FAST. In 2 and a half days we used 1.5 GBs. and decided to return the device and cancel our wirless plan,( we have a 14 day cooling off period).
September 28, 2012.....
We went to the place where we purchased the plan and device, explained what the reasoning was for the return and cancelation. ( no problem )
with that billing cycle 9/17/12 thru 10/16/12.... We received the bill with a balance for what we used(no problem).....Due Date 11/6/12......
Then 2 days later we receive this letter stating:
Regretfully, we have cancelled your wireless service because your account remains unpaid.....then the threats of reporting to the creditors........
UMMM HELLO??? It is not late and for that matter not even due yet..
Regretfully, WE have cancelled our wireless service with you ,and our records reflect unnecessary demands and threats for payment on a bill that is not due.Our friends and family will be disregarding the pre -referals and this may have a negative outcome.
Thank You for your prompt attention to this matter.

Or there might just be some kind of mix up, you can call and get it resolved without any issues, based on the info You've provided.

I'm sorry to hear that you received a bill for a closed account. It sounds like this was an oversight, possibly caused by the timing of the cancellation you did.
I'm sure we can get this all cleared up though. Will you please send a private message to ATTCustomerCare with your name, account number, email address, phone number and the best time to contact you?
