Windows Phone 7 NoDo Update is live now!

Focus owners please report here if you get the update. You don't have to wait for the notification. Connect your phone to Zune software and check the update from inside Zune.

Finally, the status for Focus is showing as 'Scheduling'. So the rumored 4/19 date might be true after all.

I believe the report says it goes out to unbranded WP7 devices first. So, keep checking.

Focus unbranded getting only the pre-Nodo..  NoDo is a no show for all samsung devices.  Branded Focus getting nothing for days or weeks.

meaning that carriers are in fact blocking updates regardless of timing!!!!! If anyone can wrangle some info out of ATT post it here.

Didn't appear to save my text last time I tried to post so here it goes again.

 

Focus owner here, no update. I don't get why AT&T is being so silent on this. @winphonesupport has already said carriers are testing and will release the update when they're done but that's it. We need dates. Something. It is not cool to keep us customers in the dark and just expect us to wait and wonder if we're going to get the update any time soon. Especially considering AT&T was supposed to be the "premier partner" or something like that.

I haven't seen the update yet, either (LG Quantum). Wish AT&T would release this information to its customers so we know what's going on...

that is still 8 days away and given release dates it can still be changed. Would not touch the upgrade for about a week after that to see if the problems that existed in the other two attempts still do.

HTC users can bypass the carrier restriction for the WP7 update . How about samsung users ? dia anyone try this on the samsung ?

AT&T users won't get the update for quite some time. This is a quote from Paul Thurott's blog: "it appears that AT&T users, and perhaps all users of Samsung-branded Windows Phones, will be among the last to get the update."

AT&T obviously doesn't care about getting us the update. We're already customers in a contract. If they cared they would have either released it or at least given us official information and time frames on when to expect the update. I'm leaning more and more towards leaving for Verizon when they get the Trophy.

you are correct.. They have no interest in providing customers with service and think how much worse it's going to get when they get bigger with the T-Mobile buyout.

 

Call your congressman and senator and tell them to oppose the buyout.. No service/update(s) for us... no buyout for them

Actual conversation I had online with Tech Support this morning. I have also confirmed that other LG Quantum phone owners through a different carrier have received the update so this isn't a Microsoft issue, it's an ATT issue!

Me: I would like to know when AT&T will be releasing the update from Microsoft for my LG Quantum.

ATT Tech: I will be happy to assist you with this today.  Please allow 2-3 minutes while I research this for you.

Me: Thank you

ATT Tech: What current software version is on the phone?  

Me: 7.0 (7004)

ATT Tech: According to our system, currently there are no updates available for the LG Quantum.  However, you are welcome to check back later at any time for further assistance.  I apologize for the inconvenience.  However, is there anything else I can assist you with today?

Me: So my windows phone will not be receiving the windows phone update?

Me: Wasn't the update from Microsoft for all wp7 phones?

ATT Tech: You may contact Microsoft directly regarding that information.  Unfortunately, I have not information in my system regarding an update for the LG Quantum. I am sorry about that.  Do you have any further questions or concerns that I can assist with today?

Me: Nope that was it.

You can't really blame the AT&T chat tech support people.  They really don't know about the update.  All they go by is the information on their computer screen.   I don't know who the people are at AT&T that can provide the information on the release, but you can be certain that we don't have access to them to talk about it.

That appears to be a lie from AT&T. Microsoft has tested this thing already, and has delayed it three times. AT&T is holding out to add their junkware to the update.

AT&T and Microsoft, you need to let us know the plans for this update.  We deserve to know that you *are* planning to send this update to existing customers and a timeline on when that will happen.  Start communicating, it is only going to get worse.

Personally I think the whole idea that AT&T would hold up a update for "our" phones makes me very angry and I too may take my 5 lines to Verizon if I see other carriers updating WP7 devices and we are forced to sit on our hands.  I purchased my Focus with the understanding copy and paste would be updated in early March.  
The update is done and ready for upgrading, there is NO reason for AT&T to delay it to their customers..  We waited long enough..

According to http://www.microsoft.com/windowsphone/en-us/features/update-schedules.aspx ATT is gragging its feet on our update. Look at t-mobile phones they are scheduling the update not testing, both updates. Look at other countries most of them have scheduled the first update and some are scheduling the second.

 

Att is testing both updates? Really? This update has been avalible of ATT testing since January even if it was only avalible since February they only have three phones. ATT if you want me to test them for you I'll behappy too it will take me no more than an hour to do so. I am going to call an bug them about this.

 

If we let this go on we are going to me months behin on updates. Rigth now we are behing one update then two then 3. I don't know about you but I want my november/december mango update this year not in march of 2012.

As far as the update goes it has NOT been out since January as you forum miners will recall there was an issue with the Samsun Focus phones that would crash after the update was applied. 

That means a change had to be made and that resets the clock.  If you change a software package it has to go back through testing and certification by MS.  Then it has to go back through testing and certification by the carrier. 

 

I don't recall updates being a SLA in my contract.  So ATT does not owe me or you anything in the form of an update just because someone else got it.

 

Its not about who was first.  You should have left that behind in kindergarten.

 

We will get the update within the next few weeks.   In the mean time I am sure you can make a call and update your Facebook or Twitter accounts so your phone is working as designed and as agreed upon by the carrier.

 

The next update in July should probably come with a box of tissues.
