I spoke with ATT but they said it was released on 1/31 but it is released to people in waves. I have not gotten yet.
it is about to be a year.... i been looking forward to this update for a while now.
I'm sorry you're having issues with the update. As you've mentioned, the update has been released a while back and should be available to all users. why are taking so long for the update?
Almost 10 months from the release and i can't update my phone

I would respect honest more (E.G. "We don't have any plans to update your phone"). Instead of telling me "you should receive the update soon, other locations got the update, we are testing it your zone"
I reviewed your case, a specialist sent you an email with instructions on November 1st, are you using an email address you have registered with here?
Hello edwardzm, you indicated that you spoke with a manager and got some instructions, but they didn't work. If you're not using AT&T as your service provide, you won't get any updates that are pushed by AT&T to its customers. Unfortunately, I believe that's the issue in your case.
It did turn out that this forum was not using the same e-mail address that my ATT account was using. However, the troubleshooting that was sent to me on the 8th, and the e-mail did not help at all. It was what I have been trying to do for the past months.
Thank you for checking, I recommend replying to a specialist to let them know their initial troubleshooting suggestions didn't help to see what next steps you should take. You might want to send a copy to ATTCustomerCare private message box on the forum to ensure quicker response.
I tried contacting ATT support multiple times in for more than a year. They keep telling me the same stuff.
I have still never gotten a word back if ATT has rolled out the 7.8 update for my area and phones. That would be useful.
I know Samsung has released the update. But I have no idea if ATT has. They keep telling me to do the same things that I have tried a 100 times.
I'm guessing they just have not finished testing the 7.8 software or don't plan to. Because I am not the only one having this problem.
Only Samsung Focus S users I have came across that got the 7.8 used some 3rd party software or some tricks to get the update, which I do not want to do since it is not official and may be illegal.
I have recived all the updates, my phone has the update 7.10.8773.98, so I don´t understand why this update is not released(7.10.8862.144), and why AT&T's users even has not received the update ?
As it's been discussed in this thread, the update was released a while back and it's available to all customers. Unfortunately, after everything you've done there is only one other explanation that I can think of. Something might be corrupted in your phone's software and a factory reset may be needed to find that out or a hardware issue of some kind is causing this.
AT&T hasn't released the update and they probably no longer will since the phone is soo old. If you wanted to do it on your own (AT YOUR OWN RISK), take a look at this:
I've done it with my phone and it's super easy, but if something screws up you will probably be out a phone...
I have the Update 7.10.8773.98, i just need the update Update 7.10.8862.144
Can be a problem with the update version?
I've done a lot of factory resets on this phone. It's July 2014, so I have just come to accept that I will never get the update on this phone.
