So when exactly is AT&T going to release the Windows Phone 7 update? This is rediculous. Where is the communications department. I have contacted support multiple times, and they have no clue. Maybe someone in the communications department should get off thier duff and inform us! More importantly just make it happen. It's been out since mid February.

It sounds like its in MS's hands now as they are rolling out the updates. So I assume the update had been approved by ATT? Still, ATT could post something somewhere on these forums...

From my experience it's usually the carriers who are the last leg/final say in firmware updates, some sort fo communication from AT&T would be nice on when we could expect this... Posting so hopefully a moderator has some sort of feedback/ETA.

Now that the T-Mobile update is LIVE, ATT customers are officially the last people to get it. I’m glad I’m with the “Premiere Partner” for WP7! I don’t expect ATT to care about this for one second, but I’m giving them until the end of April for this update to get pushed. If it’s not released by then I’ll be heading to the ATT store to cancel my entire membership to ALL of their services – cell, U-Verse for cable, and internet. Again, they won’t care for a second, but I can’t sit idly by while a provider - that we all pay an awful lot of money to – holds back an update for apparently no reason whatsoever.
It’s ridiculous and I hope at some point there will be some sort of governance over these updates processes from some governing body. Paying customers shouldn’t be kept in the dark and begging their service provider for something that will make their products better! Customers enter into a service agreement with a cell provider with the assumption that the product will be changed. When that fails to happen and the software manufacturer has come out and stated that the update has been finished for months, I would argue that the customer was sold an item under false pretenses. Unfortunately, we are left to do nothing and we are left without recourse. I’ll be requesting an HD7S as soon as they are available since the NoDo update will have already been applied, and if ATT fails to comply I’ll dump them at the earliest opportunity. And they won’t care a bit.

I'm disgusted. I love my Samsung Focus, but this is ridiculous. So, testing for an update that was released in February is finished in early April. I don't even know what that means. Before midnight on April 15th? Following that, M$ has to schedule the update, which "typically lasts 10 business days or less". So, ten business days. So the scheduling will be completed by the 25th of April at midnight. Then, M$ has to deliver the update which, "Because updates are typically delivered to customers in batches, it might take several weeks before you receive notice that an update is available for you". Several weeks. If 1 is 1, 2 is a couple, 3 is a few, and several is at least 4 (probably more), I have to believe that the soonest I'll get my update is the 25th of May, and that's optimistic. Why don't you surprise me, AT&T/Microsoft and try to make this phone a success instead of a failure by getting the updates out in a reasonable timeframe. Since AT&T is buying T-Mobile, I have to say that CDMA is looking pretty good right now. Get it right, AT&T.

I just became an AT&T customer recently released from Sprint and i have to say that even though the delay is frustrating...i am okay with it. On more than one occasion my Sprint phone update crashed my phone...once to the point i had to get another phone. So AT&T please make sure the update doesn't crash my phone, i'll wait...hopefully won't have to be too much longer.

Sorry dude most people aren't going to do the back door method. Please stop posting this.
Do you know for fact that the "right now" version of NoDo will be the same as the one ATT finally approves?

Hi, I'm not 'most people'. The hack is now pulled but I used the chevron updater on my at&t branded, locked htc surround and the phone works fine. I have none of the issues associated with nodo that have been reported (maybe because I did not alter the registry or any other device mod ?). Reportedly the only issue I may or may not have is the ability to download any further updates. I will deal with that when the time comes; if it comes before I am eligable for and upgrade. If you consider the pace of the current minor update I probably bet on the winning horse.

Happy to hear you're not like "most people".
Glad the Chevron update worked for you..I'll wait since NoDo doesn't address any of my needs and wants anyway.
But you didn't answer the question...

The question being when will at&t release updates? From testing? Scheduling? Delivering? Focus? Surround? Omnia? Had I known the answer I would have passed it along and maybe have waited for official update myself. If anyone truly knows they work for ms or at&t and they are not telling. I highly doubt you'll get a definite answer here.

For those that used the Chevron update, from what I gather, it only updated the OS. But included in the update for those that went the official route are firmware updates, radio software updates, and bootloader updates. So you haven't gotten everything if you did it that way. Something to keep in mind.

True. I also did not get the at&t adress book but I'm okay without it. The phone (htc surround) is functioning fine. I don't know what the firmware and bootloader revisions improved and I believe the radio revisions improved connectivity to at&t hotspots (this I might miss if I don't get it). Ms is also stating that chevroned phones will not update past nodo. What does this mean? Does it mean I will not get updates or that I will not get updates via chevronwp7 updater? At present I am not shedding tears seeing as what samsung focus users are going through. Notice that I have an htc surround. The rumor is these phones will get the update mid-May (presumably including firmware, etc. from htc). It is my understanding that chevroned phones are recieving the present carrier updates, as for security update we'll see soon enough. Mango? I think that by the time ms, at&t and htc release it to the surround I'll be ready for an equipment upgrade. Non-issue.

DUDE! WHERE'S MY UPDATE? I installed the patch for my "walshed" phone and AT&T is still dragging it's feet. Where are all the Surround users? Am I the only one who is ticked off? Sure I get the product I pay for but customer service/support is non-existent.

For the love of all that is holy, what is going on??? AT&T, the Windows Phone 7 "NoDo" update was announced as complete in February and released in March. It's friggin JULY and you haven't allowed it to be released for the Samsung Focus. What is wrong with you?!!!!!

There's two versions of the Samsung Focus. I have the earlier version and got the update. The later version (1.4) didn't get the update until much later. From what I understand the update for the later version should be in distribution now.

Microsoft released Mango for production on 7/26/11. It's in AT&T hands now, and that has historically been a long wait. 90 days?

Yes, how soon can we have Mango?? Will it be before I have to return my new HTC HD7s for lack of ability to connect to WiFi?
You see -- the phone will not let me connect to hidden WiFi services -- like more than half the ones I need at home and work!! Supposedly this will be corrected in Mango.
Supposedly there was an HTC fix out to tide us over, but it seems to have been removed from any download areas. Anyone else have a solution to the problem for signing on to a hidden wifi network??
Thanks, Worthington P.

Mango does indeed let you connect to WiFi networks that have hidden SSID's. Patience. As was mentioned, Mango is RTM'ed so you likely start to see it in the next month or two.

"Ren: Now listen, Cadet. I've got a job for you. See this button? Don't touch it! It's the History Eraser button, you fool!
Stimpy: So what'll happen?
Ren: That's just it. We don't know. Maybe something bad, maybe something good. I guess we'll never know, 'cause you're going to guard it. You won't touch it, will you?"
