I just received my new "jack". The I own a "BlackJack II" and wanted it because of the wi-fi. I opened it and connected to my home wireless router. Everything was clicking good. Than I look at current usage and notice a "usage" on my data. I was under the impression that with wi-fi it was FREE. So what now? I don't want to have to buy the "plan" Do I just need to sell it? I still have my "II

If Jack is like any other wi-fi phone AT&T sold, you need to make sure you configured everything correctly so that it won't use cellular data. The phone is probably configured to use cell data connection for Pocket IE out of box. The tell tale sign of your phone using cell data instead of wifi is that your antenna symbol (next to signal bars) changed to a small letter E or 3G. No, AT&T won't charge you data if you only uses Wi-fi.
I believe enabling/disabling the proxt settings is exactly for that use. Am I right foxbat?

Proxy is just one problem which will prevent you ever successfully connect to internet via Wi-Fi but won't automatically use Cell data. I've never used a wi-fi WM standard phone (only WM Pro in the past). So I can't tell you how to configure the Jack to use Wi-Fi only. However, here is my guess. You can check settings->connections->Menu->advanced to make sure none of the connection types use WPA/Media Net connection. In pocket IE, menu->Properties->Connection and make sure it uses 'Internet' instead of 'WAP Network'.
Proxy can be easily unlocked. But that's not your problem.
