Here is what I am facing. I can send pictures, group texts, and maybe contacts (haven't tried recently) but I cannot receive pictures, group texts, and contacts. I initially talked to AT&T support, and they said that it is probably a messaging app that is screwing up my settings.

Sounds much more like a provisioning issue than a phone issue - the only constant here is your account settings/sim, not the phone.
The 920 itself can sent/receive MMS fine. I would focus less on your phone and more on your provisioning settings.

You don't. Call 611 on your cell. Tell the AT&T support person your MMS isn't working, and that you would like them to check your provisioning in their system. They should be able to at least verify everything is correct on their end.
