I have had the same problem on my LG CF360. I've called AT&T three times, and they replaced the phone twice. I'm now on my third CF360 and all three have had the same problem. Tech support told me they don't have any record of this problem, but I've seen this issue come up several times on this site and other web sites. As far as I'm concerned, the music player software in this phone is defective. I also spoke to LG customer service and got the run around from them. At least AT&T has been good about replacing the phone, but after three of them with the same problem, I am going to get something else. What really concerns me is that I've paid $40 for the USB cord and USB headphones since this phone doesn't use a standard headphone jack. I don't know what other phones use this connection, but I know that AT&T won't refund my money for accessories, so it looks like I'm out that money.
Good luck! I think I'm just going to bite the bullet and get an iPhone.

I talked to the tech support people at ATT and they fed me the crap about "having no record of this problem" i pointed out the posts all over the internet. They offered to take the phone back which would not solve the problem since from what i've read all of the LG CF360s do this. Is'nt a problem like this something they should mention in there stupid ads online. I would really like to know how they can ignore these posts and lie to customers really says a lot about the company.
For what it's worth things i've tried that did NOT work:
-New SD card
-Reformating songs
-Formating the whole card
-Praying to god
-Smashing the POS with a hammer

I have the same problem!
I also posted ... hopefully someone has the answer.
My LG CG360 is new, and I have a new adapter for it.
The USB adapter I have works great, but no headphones ...
sound only comes out of the speaker. so sad!

I agree with everyone here about the problems with the CF360 music player. We changed to AT&T 3 months ago (from Sprint- never a problem) to get the rollover minutes. Oops- forgot to ask about nights- nights started at 7 w/ Sprint- not til 9 with ATT. Now, I have gone thru 2 or 3 different micro SD cards trying to fix this stupid music player in the 360- all to no avail.
Waiting now for my first "replacement"- (did anyone notice you are getting a "refurbished" NOT "new" phone in exchange?)
Am sure it will have the same problems- I did escalate to Supervisor tonight- she said she likes Samsung phones better. That's what I had with Sprint- should have stayed! Anyway, asked her to put in my file that the next "replacement" will be a different phone. Doubt if they will do that, the ID10Ts! I am really peeved at their idea of "customer service"- I call it "lip service" ONLY.
So, will see what happens when my refurb LG gets here in a few days-
As far as getting earphones- there's a link I can send you to a outfit on Ebay that sells earphones/mic for listening to music and receiving and making calls. Works OK- not as good as half the standard 3.5 mm or 2.5 mm (round) adapter phones on the market.
Call me- MUSICLESS IN DALLAS! And, I am {word filter evasion} and I'm not going to take it anymore!

To get the music player to stay running, you have to slide the phone open and leave it that way and then open the stopwatch too. It's really stupid, i know, but running the stopwatch while the music is running is the only way to keep it going.

The stopwatch solution doesn't help with my problem: sound still comes out of the phone's speaker when I plug in an adapter to try to use my noise-cancelling headphones. Has anyone else found a solution? This is probably a design fault that can't be resolved.

I recently got the CF360.. and started messing with the music player. The computer I'm using to put the song on it, doesn't support Windows Media 10, so I'm using the drag and drop method. For some reason, no matter how many songs I put on there, it's not updating when I tell it to. It only will update when it sees that a song that was on there (when I started messing with it yesterday.. I was able to get one song on it) isn't there anymore, it will update. I deleted that song, and the other song that were on there.. and now it has about 35 songs that I want on there, but it will not update to include them in the library.. any help?

I have found a handsfree headset on ebay that is made by LG and works great with the CF360. The big bonus to this headset is that it has a 3.5 mm headphone jack built into the mic so that you can use any headphones that you like. I found it under the item description of "Micro USB Handsfree Stereo Headset for LG CF360". It is shipped from Hong Kong, but for $11.99 with free shipping, it is definitely worth it. It is also of better quality than the one sold by AT&T or any other place I have found. Also, unlike the 3.5 mm headphone adapter, it actually works to listen to music through your own headphones!

Give it up. AT&T says they have nothing on this problem and will refer you to LG. LG says that AT&T is responsible for the applications loaded on the phone. Both expect us to continue to use their products and services in the future. Go figure.

Hello All,
I think I may have a solution for the ‘Playback Error’ problem with the LG CF360. Below, I have put the steps that caused my phone to have the error and then the steps I took to get rid of the error.
Firstly, my CF 360 worked well for hours of playing songs without any error. Then, after I did the following steps, the error happened over and over.
- I pushed a mp3 ring tone via blue tooth to the phone with the SD card in. It saved the ring tone in the SD card, but I wanted it on the phone in case the card was out, it would still ring.
- I took out the SD card and pushed the same file to the phone, so it would save on the phone and not the SD card.
- I also pushed another mp3 to the phone.
Then, the “Playback error” happened intermittently every few minutes.
This may have been caused by either
- The phone’s library of mp3’s being corrupted because of the same file in two locations, or
- The phone’s physical memory getting too low to effectively play music.
Here are the steps I took that got rid of the error.
- Delete the duplicate mp3 from the SD card
- Move all music mp3’s to the SD card and off of the phone.
- Move some pictures to the SD and off of the phone.
- Shut off phone
- Take out SD card.
- Turn on phone and try to play a playlist of songs that were on the SD card (causes the phone not find the file and update the music library)
- Put in SD card while the phone is on. (causes the phone to re-build the music library).
After I did this, I have played mp3’s for hours without any errors at all, just like before. Either I had too much stuff on the phone or the music library was not correct causing the crash.
I hope it helps.
Mike G

Okay, here are a few simple solutions for those of you who can't just exchange the phone for a different model.
First for the playback error problem, this only happens when the the software is told to go from one song on the card to a different song that is not next to it. Put whole albums on the card, don't use the all songs feature for the whole library or the specific artists, you will be fine.
Second, The micro usb port that LG uses is for some reason propriatery, and thus does not work with a lot of the micro usb adaptors out there. Find one online that the peer reviews says works with LG, doesn't matter if the specs say it will work for LG. If the Peer Reviews say it works for any LG phone with a Micro USB, you have a very good chance that it will work for the CF360.
Here is my problem with the CF360 that I need help fixing. The Media Player will only scan about 5 gB worth of music on the card and then whatever it scanned is all that shows up. I have tried over and over deleting the database file and rescanning it and it always stops after about 5 gB. I am currently looking for a program that will allow me to manually edit the little .bin file that it uses for the database, but can't find anything. One website said I should be ablle to open it in Notepad and edit it through there, but that doesn't work either incase you are wondering. Please let me know if you hear of anything that will help.

Go into the SD card in the folder called MTP and there will be a database file that starts with "LG" Delete that file and then it will force it to rescan the card and it will update. but it will only scan about 5 gBs, so I guess don't put more than that on there.
