Auto Download of Email Attachments on Jack

Does the Jack have a feature that automatically download attachments in emails instead of me needing to select them and request a download? I have the email set up in the settings to download the "Entire Message" and I get the entire text part but the attachments are never downloaded. My old phones (Tilt, Cingular 2125) had a setting that would allow me to select attachment downloads.

I've gone through ActiveSync, Outlook (for work emails) and Earthlink and none of them see to provide this. Am I missing something here?

I do not have the Jack but knowing from previous WM std phones, it should be there, probably under an advanced setting while configuring the email settings. If you can't find it, a quick call to AT&T support, and I am sure a CS person will get you going in no time.

I've been through the CS route. It was a waste of time...they knew less about the phone than I did. I've seen that setting on previous phones of mine but after a thorough search of Settings/Advance Settings/Account Modification/etc it doesn't seem to do it on this phone.

I was hoping someone knew of a work-around. Thanks.

IIRC, the options to enable downloading of attachment is now hidden in WM 6.1. However, you can still configure it on your PC if you connect the phone via ActiveSync/WMDC. You can configure whether or not to download attachment and even conditions (only download if size is less than certain amount).

Thanks Foxbat...I knew you were out there to answer this.  I see the options you mentioned when connected to my PC through the cable. I'm in the process of syncing the attachments through the cable from the Exchange Server. Now that I've selected the "Download Attachments" option while connected to my PC, will that provision remain and allow automatic attachment downloads straight to my phone after I terminate the cable connection?

It will. Those options are for the phone.
