Lower channels have big black lines on either side of the picture

We had issues with the DVR recording when it wasn't set to and it wouldn't shut off.  Talked with unverse support and they did a reset and that took care of that problem.  But when the TV came back on, all the standard channels have large black lines on either side of the picture.  The picture looks normal and is not distorted and is normal top to bottom but is boxed in on either side by the large black lines (almost looks like one of those videos with the black lines at the top and bottom but this is on either side).  It does it on all the standard channels.  All the HD channels have normall pictures that fill the screen.  Playing a DVD shows normally on the screen.  I tried a soft reset and a hard reset but that made no difference.  We are now sitting at 30 minutes on hold trying to talk to suppport but not sure we can spend the rest of the day doing that.  Just interested to know if anyone else has experienced this issue.

Thanks.

ka2pfv - sounds like you were on a Zoom setting & you lost it on the reset.

Press ENTER/ZOOM (bottom right of the number pad)- navigate down to Zoom & select with the OK button. Pick your zoom setting.

I believe this setting persists & may make your HD pictures too large. But, if it was like that & you did not notice, that is OK, too. To maximize picture size you may nneed to change it depending on what you are watching. But, it is easy to do.
