I would like to listen to some of the great audio channels offering an array of music genres through my audio receiver only and with my TV turned off. I have it connected properly but when I turn my TV off, the audio signal stutters after about 5 or 10 minutes my TV is turned off. Why does it do this? It seems like the U-Verse receiver goes into a sleep mode when I turn my TV off and it cuts off the audio signal to my audio receiver. Again, how can I listen to the audio signal through my receiver while my TV is in the off position?

First you might see if the TV has a feature that coordinates on/off via HDMI. If it is turned on, turn it off.
Next you can try disconnecting the HDMI at the STB. If that works you can use component cables instead of HDMI.
I have U-verse on HDMI1 & my computer on HDMI2. When I am in the DVR portion & switch to the computer for a while, when I switch back the STB has gone to sleep.
I am planning to do some rewiring on my setup. Maybe tomorrow I will do it & try your connections.

I have also connected the component cables from the U-verse receiver audio left and right (red & white) output directly to my audio input receiver component audio input and the U-verse receiver cuts off audio after about 5 or 10 minutes after I power down my TV and leave the audio receiver on. It seems like the U-Verse receiver is going into a sleep mode causing the audio to cut out. The only way I can get the audio back is if I turn on the TV again. This does not make any sense at all. Please help. Thanks.
