I called AT&T to just get a new bundle. They put me in U-verse without telling me that a person must come to the house and there would be a charge...$200. I have made multiple phone calls (often getting disconnected) and they continue to take autopay from my checking account . This is a nightmare. Has it happened to anyone else?

$200 is a pretty high installation charge. You may be able to get it reduced or waived if you contact one of AT&T Community Managers or AT&T Customer Care:

Not sure who told you that, but there is no $200 installation charge. The highest is $99 and that's for internet only installation. If you have TV/internet bundle there is a charge, but it's waived. Take the advice that was given and send a PM to Customer Care.
