Seriously? Seriously? You really think Randall Stephenson (CEO*) is going to stop what he's doing to talk to you? The guy makes $22 MILLION a year. I think he jumped that CSR train a long time ago.
But go ahead and head over this way (I'm in Dallas) and let us know how the trip went. ![]()

That's not going to happen. If he's even in the DFW area you really think he's going to talk to you? Your best bet is to contact Alex with any issue that normal channels haven't resolved.

True, but it's still not going to result in the poster talking to the CEO.

I find it hilarious that they removed the address in Dallas with the "inappropriate content removed" tag.
Duhhhhh....I'm pretttyyyyy sure most people either know where the offices are or can Google it. And here's a newsflash...the building is called "AT&T Plaza". ![]()

If you would like to contact the AT&T CEO or other members of the Board of Directors, click the "AT&T Links" tab in my signature below, then click on the "AT&T Corporate Governance" link.
On that page is a "Contact Us" section, and there is a link that says "How to Contact AT&T's Board of Directors". It contains a mailing address.
While some people have gotten good results using this method, there is no guarantee that your mail will be acted upon.

If you never found the number I can help on this. I got no response from Alex so I don't think he is a source for help. However I did google the ATT SEC 10-K filing. In a publicly held company's annual 10-K Report they have to list a real physical address and phone number. I called and if you press 6 it gets you to the secretary for the executives. There is an office of the President option that you can ask for and I am prety sure it is nowhere near the president's office but it is a good start for escalating problems. I am still waiting on resolution to my problem with the otiose people at Yahoo. It was one of the most insane business moves of all time to get Yahoo to handle ATT's email. I had over a decade with Bellsouth.net and never had a single email problem and since they tormented me with Yahoo I have had major problems at least 4 times a year. Anyway the contact I worked with over the phone submitted a trouble ticket to Yahoo to try and solve the problem. That was last friday and today is tuesday and as of today there has been no solution. No one at any level of ATT tech support had even the slightest clue about the problem - at least the guy in the "president's office" had a clue and was able to talk intelligently.

Quite a few people have found Alex and his team to be very helpful. You might want to follow up on your PM to him.

Your original post is about an on-going issue that appears to affect quite a few people and is in one of the gray areas of support, as they don't provide support for e-mail client setup (yes, I know you see it as a server problem, but you have to get to the server with the client). He may be having trouble getting someone to own it. Or maybe he is on vacation. It can take 2 or 3 days to get a response from one of the AT&T groups via the PM channel.
If you want to follow up and make sure your request gets to a group (that presumuably doesn't all go on vacation at once), then click this
Customer Service link to send a Private Message (PM) to the AT&T customer service team to help you resolve your request. You can expect a reply via return PM (the blue envelope
in the upper right hand corner of this site).

Its been another week and never heard from any one named Alex. I did, however, find the corporate office number in their SEC 10K report and managed to get to what they call the President's office and talked with someone who identifies himself as a level 2 or tier 2 support person. He tried setting up the account on his end and had the same problem. He researched it and found that the yahoos at Yahoo have had some server problems that he says would cause the intermittent problems I am experiencing. I can get email one minute and then 5 minutes later it produces an error. We both agreed that ATT giving away their email to yahoo was a horrible decision. He had to file a trouble ticket with yahoo to investigate and solve the problem. However another week has passed and no improvement. Since all of my forms of communication are through ATT (wireless and Uverse) they really can't escape the problem. But the problem is actually at yahoo and those people care less about customers than ATT does. I have had to stop using my ATT email and turn off the email on most computers because it is extremely annoying to get the stupid message telling me to enter password or account setup info.

I have recommended to many people that they move to gmail if they have any problems with att/yahoo. Here is a link with the instructions & report of another satisfied customer - http://forums.att.com/t5/Features-and-How-To/Why-d

So, lets get this straight - the ATT solution to the incompetence of their email partner - yahoo is to use Google. This is hilarious. It would be far more intelligent if ATT had used Google to manage their email since yahoo has proven themselves to be totally incompetent at managing email.
My question is about using google is - will the reply to the email say that it came from my actual email address not some google email address? I have many other emails managed under different google gmail accounts and I am ok with that but i want to make sure that the change is actually a mail record change and not just forwarding the mail to google.

Is that AT&T's official response, no, but it's the solution many users have used. The responses in this forum are from customers just like yourself.

I tried to PM the Alex at the beginning of the link. I got an error message saying that there was no such user and that invalid users have been removed. If anyone from AT&T is on this board, I'll put this out there:
I believe this issue has been solved, but I wouldlike to go ahead and file a complaint anyway so that AT&T knows how widespread the problem is just in case it comes up again.
It took 3 days for me a few weeks ago to recieve important voicemail messages on my iPhone. I'm sure you'll agree that this is completely unacceptable.
Thank you
