one STB sees media server, the other's do not

Hi,

I have two VIP1200 STB's and one 1260 DVR. All three are are on coax HomePNA. All three are will show me photos and play music shared via WMP11 from a Windows 7 box with a gigabit ethernet interface.

Twonky server sees all three clients but the Media Share app on only one VIP1200 will sees my twonky media server installation, the other two won't. I can't figure out why. All three units are running TV2 version 2.1.2512.10.

I'd like to use twonky server rather than WMP11 because navigation is better and playlists are visible on the clients.

Any suggestions?

Try rebooting the receivers. It is mostly a hit or miss with media share on the UVerse boxes, along with that I find them to be slower and harder to browse through playlists, music, photos, etc. than using a dedicated device instead.

I agree it does seem to hit-and-miss. I've deliberately rebooted everthing on the home network multiple times. The one VIP 1200 even reboots itself when you go to media share a second time...

Is there anything I could set on the gateway/router?

Make sure the connections on the boxes are tight. If they are then call TS and let the CSR know what is going on with your service. They will run a test on your service, and if/when they see errors request a tech be sent out to check your installation. Use the phone number in my sig.
