I have down loaded the easy remote to my iphone 5. It will not stay connected to the receiver. It will connect for a minute or two then disconect. I have to turn the app off and restart it then it will do the same thing.

Do you use wi-fi for other devices? Works OK?
Did you try it close to the RG? Is the RG positioned to openly transmit?
Can you find any connection options on either the app or the RG?
Try the other, more robust app to see if it behaves the same way.

The AT&T installer couldnt get it to work either. Everything else connects fine. The transmitter is the At&t one that was just installed and hooked up the wireless receivers work. My wifes I phone does the samething, but it works a little better than mine.

My understanding is that the Wi-Fi is the standard wireless built in to the RG, The external transmitter is used only for the wireless STBs.
Log on to the RG to look at the wireless power setting - http://192.168.1.254/ - click on the wireless icon.
Maybe try a different channel?? What about my previous suggestions??
I am talking about between the phone and the RG. Not thinking about fron the RG to the STB. You need to find out which connection is faulty. To do that you need to try the app with a wire STB/DVR.
