Anyone know how to get a definite on Uverse availability? Many of our neighbors have switched over. We had someone knock on our door and give a sales pitch on it a year ago...
The agents and website say we're not able to get the service. HOWEVER, this was the same thing with DSL. The mappings are bad for where our house is located. We're at the very end of a run from the neighborhood junction box. After physically testing, they saw we were able to get DSL (in 2000). Apparently, the system had us on a different run and several thousand feet out of range.
Assuming that is the same situation today and that we're still not mapped right, we may be eligible. However, I cannot get a straightforward answer from anyone on the phone.
Thoughts?

Pretty much only way they will start an address validation case is if you have close neighbors around you that can get Uverse now, but you can't. If not, they will probably just blow you off as being too far and probably are.
See latest on it at David's page:

I live in a Townhouse in Charlotte, NC. My next-door neighbor switched to U-Verse when it came in Charlotte, I believe in the spring or summer of 2009. I called and was told it as not available to my address.
Told them about my neighbor and they would not believe me. I was told by U-Verse that I would have to prove to them it was in the neighborhood by my next-door neighbor providing me with a copy of his U-Verse statement. I have never heard of anything so stupid.
I waited for about 6 months and stitched in December 2009. Since switching I have had NUMEROUS problems and I am switching to DirecTv soon

So I called today to do the Address Validation Check thing. Case number has been put in and the ticket is all set. She said if my neighbor is able to get it, she should be able to turn it on hopefully. She has to wait to get the all clear I guess (until they check it). Also, they raise the range from 3000ft to 6000ft (really 5000ft) away from the VRad now.
I hope I get it wish me luck.
Also thank you David and thank you to the person who provided the link.

Unluckily it will probably be cancelled sportsman. It would require pair bonding and the iNid and they found out the iNid is faulty and has to be redesigned.
Another user posted they are not taking these iNid address validations cases now. Good luck ![]()

The iNID currently has a problem with the external battery, that's why they halted deployment. However, I don't know at this point whether it's a hardware thing that will require a full redesign or if it's something they can fix in the firmware. Hopefully it's the latter.
