Extremely Slow Browser connection, Fast connection in Steam/uTorrent

First of all, Im running Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit using a NETGEAR WNDA3100v2 wireless adapter on my desktop to connect to our ATT uverse Wifi. We are also using the router/modem that was provided upon install last month when we began our subscription. For the first few weeks, I was getting the speeds promised for the most part (12 Mbps downstream). However, about two weeks ago, I started to have strange connection issues, and I am still having them today. I am only one room away from the router, yet my in browser speeds are now ranging from .5 MBps downstream to 3 MBps. On average my download speed from any host or website is 50 kb/s. When we first started our subcription I was getting the promised speeds, averaging 1 mb/s downloads. Ive tried multiple broswers, and this problem is universal even after cleaing cookies/cache. It's become so bad that chrome will often time out while trying to load a page. 

But here's where it gets weird. 

This whole time, I've been getting normal speeds in steam and torrent clients. When I download a game in Steam, I get a solid 1.4 mb/s downloads. Yet, any broswer I try go at an incredibly slow speed. I have absolutely no idea how to fix this. The other computer connected to the router gets completely normal speeds. Yet, Im having this bizarre issue. 

Does anyone know how I can resolve this??

You have to cut your torrent (and any other) uploads way back as a constant upload will kill your download speeds on Uverse.

I apologize I should've made this clear. I am not actively uploading/downloading anything from any external application while trying to browse. No other computer in the house is hogging bandwidth either.

jboykin325 - try google DNS server - 8.8.8.8 with Chrome - You set in in network settings in your computer.

Your problem is with the Netgear USB adapter. If this is a desktop, you need to use a PCI card with an antenna that you can place above your unit on top of your desk.

If it is a laptop, it should have a built in wifi adapter. Since the UVerse router is only Wireless-G, the best PCI card that I have used that works with Win7 is this one http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16833166060 which I used on my daughter's machine.

Your weakest link will be the wifi adapter, not the UVerse service in this case.

Thank you very much I had a feeling that was the issue. The software for this adapter is absolutely horrible.

You should not have to use any software for it, since all Windows needs is the driver, which it should be able to download.

Then what are the torrent clients you referred to in your original post above?
