$149 to have a technician come over and move my modem from one room to another??... i think it's ridiculous that I am being charges that much when i have paid between $140 to $230 a month for my Uverse Bundle... for over 2 Years now....
It's an easy thing to do (Drill a hole, pull and pass the cables onto the new room), i just don't have the cramping tools to do it myself... needless to say that I will cancel my plan with ATT as soon as my contract runs out.
I will leave my modem in that room, and just pull the ethernet cable onto the new office via the basement.

Thanks for the reply, unfortunately it looks like i would need a Ethernet Cramping tool AND a cable Cramping tool.
The holes that are currently drilled in the floor are very tight and i can't pull the cables without cutting them.

That's a typical price to install an additional jack regardless who does it. When I was building my house the builder was charging $85 per drop for any additional drops, and that was before sheetrock was up. That was also 1/2 the actual price since upgrades we were only required to put down 1/2.

You obviously can't read very well, i never said i wanted them NOT to charge me at all.
But $150 for a 20 min job, you don't think it's a little expensive?
I remember an other company (wont name names or you are gonng think i work for them) that was doing it for MUCH cheaper at my previous house
Anyway, i ended up going to Homedepot and did the work myself, speak with a rep over there for a while and he explained to me what to do... the cable IN has now twist ons you can get so no need to cut and crimp the cable, as far the Ethernet, i ended up using a Female coupler, worked like a charm, $30 operation, took me about 45min

Glad you figured it out yourself. Some people will pay whatever the price because they are not able or willing to attempt what others consider a simple fix.
