I have a new landline U-Verse Voice phone number to improve call quality at home with ATT WIreless. I've set up "Locate Me" on the U-Verse Voice portal so I can use the landline # as a single # to simultaneously ring home and mobile. But, if possible, I'd like to maintain a single phone number for both voice and texting. Unfortunately, despite being a POI system, text messages sent to U-Verse Voice don't work and can't be forwarded to the cellphone. AT&T's top-tier tech support has confirmed this. Earlier, another support person told me U-Verse Voice is actually able to receive and forward texts.
Has anyone found a way to make this work, or do I have to keep using 2 numbers after all?

I have had U-voice for several years now and have never heard of that. I have received voice text messages from friends, but that is a feature offered by the cell phone company not Uverse Voice.
