I ordered U-verse high speed internet a month ago. It was too slow and the service disconnected time to time, so I cancelled within 30 days and returned my modem within 21 days from deactivation. Still, I got charged for the modem and one month of service.
First of all, it took 3 hours to have billing and collection department recognize my situation. I'm fine with that if it solved my problem.
The billing department told me that it usually takes 2-3 billing cycle to apply the credit, but there will be no collection effort since they posted a note under my account.
However, I am getting this paper bills and numerous phone calls threatening me to pay the bill.
This is clearly an illegitimate harassment.
In this forum, I see numerous people in the same situation.
If this doesn't get resolved as soon as possible.
Do not tell me to call billing department or whatever, because 1) I do not want to waste another 3 hours of my time, 2) I do not trust the words customer service reps. I think they just try to b-s their way out just for that moment so that this angry customer hangs up and goes on to the next rep next time he calls.
