I recently started switching to AT&T. First we got our cell phones switched over and had a 15% FAN discount applied to my account. Then, I separately signed up for U-Verse internet. I indicated to the woman on the phone that I did NOT want to bundle my services together as to not lose my FAN discount. She told me that nothing would be bundled and that I would still receive separate bills but, because she put my cell phone number on my U-Verse account, that I qualified for a reduced price on the U-Verse internet (Price on internet shows $29.95 for 12 months, she said mine would be $24.95) since I was an existing AT&T customer.
Does this sound right? I just don't want to mess up the FAN discount because it took me several hours on the phone with AT&T to get it established in the first place.
Thanks!

As long as you are not bundling your AT&T cell phone bill with your U-verse bill, your cell phone bill should be unaffected.

Watch your bill like a hawk because something CAN get screwed up. Get names and dates for the people you spoke with, you may need it later.

Thanks for the replies. I will keep a close eye on my first couple bills. I'm very new to AT&T and with a million 1-800 numbers to call, different people telling me different things, etc. it is incredibly difficult to get everything functioning smoothly. I really wish contacting AT&T customer service was a more streamlined, standardized process.
Our cell phone plan is under Ms. BD6879's name with myself listed as an authorized user. However, our U-Verse plan is strictly listed under my name. Hopefully, this will help when preventing any "accidental" bundling of our services.

While I've never heard the term "FAN" used, we have an employee discount on our cell phones via DH's employer.
I've never bundled all of our ATT/Uverse services for fear of losing said discount. Both accounts are in his name but they are billed separately.
I'll take whatever discount they want to give me on my Uverse bill but I won't bundle them since the employee discount is on-going and has no time restraints.

FAN was driving me crazy (be nice, I'm a bit OCD) so I had to do some research.
FAN - Foundation Account Number. Also called "Premier" account. Discount for qualifying college students or employees.

I have OCD company, skeeter, LOL!
My wireless has been bundled with landline for ages. Back in the Cingular days, they gave a bundle discount for (then new) combined billing. I have no plans to do combined billing with UV because it would still leave landline out there by itself (still 2 bills). And most likely, would remove the discount.
But when I asked to swap one Family Talk number with another (swap out the Primary number, same plan), they managed to screw it up and removed the discount.
This never should have happened and it is a fight in-progress.
Good luck, and let us know what happens.
