AT&T did not cancel my service as directed

I cancelled my U-Verse service at the beginning of February; however, I just got a new bill! Is this typical for AT&T? Is this a valid complaint that I can take up with the Public Utilities Commission? The company should be able to cancel service the first time they receive a request.

Look at the billing period of your bill.

Thanks oufanindallas, but the period that was just charged (Feb 27 - Mar 26) is after my cancellation. I cancelled my service the week of Feb 4.

I would contact customer service and make sure your account has been cancelled.

I bought the equipment, so it is not the cause of the billing. I am going to call customer service when they are open in the morning, and cancel it AGAIN. If they don't cancel it this time, then there is something wrong with the way they close out accounts.
Thanks for trying, but this really has not been very helpful.
