Don't think you will see MediaShare.
Looks like Austin and San Antonio are the designated Beta testers for now.

Got the update overnight in Madison, WI. Looks good. Now I'll wait anxiously for Mediashare to come out of beta.
Also, I wish there were a way to manually group recordings. For example, I have a bunch of Dora recorded for my daughter, but the naming conventions are inconsistent between the various channels it's on, so instead of them being in one group in the display (when viewing by date), they scatter all over the place. Any ideas? It'd be cool to edit names via the web![]()

The Total Home DVR upgrade has arrived in Bakersfield, Birmingham, Cleveland, El Paso, Fort Smith, L ansing, Madison, Midland-Odessa, Monterey, San Die go, San Francisco, South Bend, and Topeka.

Does this mean that all have received the 5.1 hotf

enwiki&Itemid=36&id=update):
"1.6.25075.1 Update Information:
Description:
UI changes and THDVR (Total Home DVR) upgradesNoticeable Changes:
Ability to schedule DVR recordings on any STB in the house
Ability to record the current program (by pressing Record) on any STB in the house
Ability to erase DVR content on any STB in the house
New program guide options (press Enter in the guide to access)
Updated VOD, DVR, startup, and bootup screens, and a new color scheme throughout
Local Government, Education, and Public Access stations available (inside Menu area)Other Information:
Still no ability to pause/rewind live TV on other STBs, but the above work-around is easier since you may start the recording on the current STB and then go into the recordings to access it."
This list is compiled by Uverse users so the information is only derived by what people have observed and may or may not be complete or accurate.
From what I have read the audio hotfix which is sent sometime after the Phase 2 update contains the following:
Full DD 5.1 audio through HDMI
Fixes TOS Link (optical) loss of DD 5.1 after Phase 2 update
Fixes audio dropout problems in HD DD 5.1 audio stream
Adds new audio menu options to menu bar (allows you to select "surround sound" for DD 5.1 audio)

Thanks Ken. Any idea on official corporate notifications?
I would hate to think I am the only one who has concern over updates without notification.
BTW, I also found that I had to reset the aspect ratio
after the update. I am very pleased with the update.
Wishlist - *seemless updates* (from what I have read, this update seems to have been less painful than previous ones)

No idea, sorry. And speaking of official corporate notifications did anyone notice the notification saying that the Phase 2 rollout was complete.
I have read that some users needed to reset the aspect ratio after the update and some didn't, in my case it stayed at 1080i so I didn't need to.

There's never an official announcment before, always comes after it has happened here in the announcements section.
If you come here even semi-often, you'll see posts about an impending upgrade when it is immanent. ![]()
Edit: Very possibly a corp announcement early next week touting phase 2 features.

Not sure if this has been answered already, but we got our upgrade yesterday (Southern Sonoma County, CA) and I noted the same thing last night. It's not very intuitive since all you see is the Audio Option, but if you hit the left or right arrow you get the zoom options. I also noted that the aspect ratio on my DRV (only unit connected to an HDTV) had been reset to 4:3 after the upgrade.

Phase 2 came last night to the Cleveland suburb , Beechwood, OH.
It looks great!
Does anyone know if this upgrade fixes the intremittant HDMI connection issues that some televisions, particularly some Samsung models, have with their STB?
I guess I will soon find out.

It appeared to have fixed the HDMI connection problem with my Samsung TV. I haven't had the problem since I got the update. I am keeping my fingers crossed.

That should not have happened. Did you try to force the update (get the Gear screens to reload the software)?

I will keep my fingers crossed, too. The HDMI connection issue has been my only major complaint about U-verse. If this upgrade really fixes that issue, it will be for me appreciated far more than any of the other enhancements.
The only other thing I would love to add to a wish list for future upgrades would be an improved GUIDE.
Wouldn't it be nice if the Guide offered you a way of grouping channels by topics: sports, news, movies, comedy, educational, shopping, etc.?
I really hate going through 400 channels just to find all the movies that are showing at a particular time.

Well, after being out of town (Houston), and unplugging everything before I left, I saw the update when I plugged everything back in. Thought maybe it would finally fix the 5.1 sound issues. See lots of people who have their problems fixed - unfortunately not mine.
I have the surround option, but if I use it with the HDMI connection to my Yamaha RX-V1600 Av receiver, I get no sound at all. If I hook up the optical again, I get intermittent sound - maybe the sound kicks in every 30 seconds or so for a couple of seconds. Still stuck with 2 ch stereo.
Worked with comcast cable, and no problems with my Blu Ray player, just the ATT box ![]()

I am not familiar with your particular receiver but you might have to change the audio input if you didn't.

Grouping? Funny you should ask! The Web Remote (off all things) now has exactly what you are wanting (albeit just sports / kids / movies) but not the Guide. Go figure! ![]()

What do you mean by "Web Remote"?

Go to this link, log in using your main UV email address and password, click on Uverse on the right hand side of the screen and you will see the web remote.

Or you can go to http://www.uversecentral.att.com in the TV section click Manage my dvr settings, a box wil appear also asking for your primary UV e-mail address and password. RC's link may be better if you don't have Uverse voice and you don't have manage your phone settings, too.

That is assuming you also have AT&T as your ISP. If not you cannot access the web remote option.

FYI, if you want a more "direct" link to the web remote, you can use http://u-versetv.sbc.yahoo.com instead. If you're not already signed in to Yahoo with your U-Verse ID/PW, you will be prompted to. I cannot guarantee that this link will always work, but it's worked for me for quite some time and it's just one less "click" to go through. :-)
Of course, the same caveat applies as mentioned above: if you don't have U-Verse Internet, you won't be able to access the web remote.
