I'm already seeing a number of features that we were used to on our DISH DVR that are apparently missing from the VIP1225. For one thing, there's only one Favorites list per TV where DISH let you set up several. But mainly, I find the Guide button fairly useless if it always brings up the master list of every known channel. I subscribe at the lowly U200 level with no movie options; I don't want to have to page thru 75% of the channels in that plan, let alone every channel in the U-verse universe!
So is there a way to set it so that the Guide button automatically brings up the Favorites list? If not, that's a major feature missing that we really consider essential.

Menu-> system options -> channel options -> hide channels.
(someone correct me if the path is wrong, I'm not at home)

Do you know that you can bring up the favorites guide by pressing the enter button ( bottom right)?
Then you have to move the cursor down one & hit OK. Not very good, but better than starting with the Menu button.
Just be careful not to remove the channel from the guide. Can you believe it? - Removing the channel takes precedence over viewing the guide.
No Usability group in sight.
