This issue has happened twice so far. I have set a program to record - both times using the iPhone app - on an HD channel, but when it actually records, it records the SD channel. I can only think of 3 things that may be causing it: 1/ there's some glitch with the iPhone app, 2/ it is recording SD because of bandwidth issues (other simultaneous recordings) or 3/ my DVR is broken. Any ideas?

Is it possible you were not on the HD channel when you set the recording?
When you are verifying it recorded HD you need to look at the channel number. Some programming on HD channels may be broadcast in 4:3 aspect.
Was your system HD busy?? Maybe you found a new feature. If it is the last stream on the DVR it does SD instead of HD. LOL

I agree it's illogical, but I've now been able to reproduce the issue and I believe it's a problem with the iPhone app. Here's what I'm doing:
1/ I find a show to record in the TV listings and make sure it's an HD channel.
2/ I click the show to bring up the record button, which I press. I then hit "Record".
3/ Then I go to the Recordings tab, select "Scheduled" and there it is - the same show at the same time I selected, but set to record on the SD channel.
I'd be interested to see if anyone else has this issue with the iPhone app.

OK. Here's another good one. I tried to record NCIS at 7pm on channel 1011. When I hit record, it came up with an error message saying "NCIS could not be recorded on channel 161 at 7:00 PM. Please try again later."
So I call up channel 161 to see what it is, and it's the CLOO channel, which at 7pm is showing something called "Shoot 'Em Up". If I click on that show, it shows the synopsis for the show, but with the NCIS photo/logo.
There's clearly something majorly wrong with UVerse's database. Does someone here want to volunteer to call the issue in to AT&T? I would, but I've got a root canal scheduled that will be much more enjoyable.

I reported this & provided this link earlier this afternoon. He says he has forwarded it to the app group.

Apple just pushed an update to the UVerse app tonight. The notes didn't mention this particular problem, but after installing, I can't get it to mess up. Perhaps it's fixed?
