AT&T U-Verse - PS4 Connection Speed REALLY SLOW

I Currently have Uverse and when I downloaded the update via usb from another internet provider it works fine. When I download the update from my place it said it would take 4 hours. I also tried to download the same file on my computer and same thing. I can download everything else on the internet just fine. On my PS4 even Netflix does not dl properly. I talked to a agent at Sony and he said it's related to the service (U-Verse) I wanted to get your thoughts about it and see what else I can do? Was thinking of doing port forwarding to see if that would resolve the issue. Does the 2-Wire modem need a special setting with a PSN network? If this does not get resolved soon I'm moving back to Comcast and bringing my friends with me. Please help!!!!

This also applies when I download a game update on the PS4 the file is 323MB and said it would take 12 hours???????????

Thanks

Steve

Glad to hear changing the DNS helped folks out. Hope you're enjoying your PS4s as much as I am!

I have really long pings, and terrible download/upload speeds. When I do a tracert my first leg, the Uverse hop is fine, 1ms or less. The rest of the route is terrible:

1ms to         192.168.1.254 - dsldevice.att.net

1007ms to   104.49.220..3 - lightspeed.frokca.net - this is their router, probably local

next hop timed out

952 ms to      12.83.77.141

618ms to       12.122.136.181

next hop timed out, another route attempted

672ms to     216.239.49.168

934ms to     209.85.246.253

946ms to       72.14.232.63

450ms to       72.14.233.200 - these are probbaly in the same building

808ms to     216.239.48.165

next hop timed out, another route attempted

889ms to         8.8.8.8

a ping is 900ms, a ping from another site, by another route, 11 hops is 23ms.

My conclusion is that Uverse, which I thought was my problem is working fine, it's ATTs routing and infrastructure that's the problem. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Some people get poor service.  Some get excellent service.  I believe, judging by the limited information, that the customer on post #14 was experiencing upstream flooding.
