Hello everyone! I have a question for you all. What is something positive that you did or are going to do for someone else this year? Think about this question. I am interested to read your answers.
Something positive that I did for someone this year was I went out today and purchased some Christmas gifts for my friend's kids. After hearing from my friend that, due to the economy, the children may only have a few things to open on Christmas this year, I wanted to go out and get them something special.
I guess this would have to be my positve thing...because it made ME feel good about doing it. 
In September, we had some flooding in the area...pretty devastating in this certain area of PA. One day at work we had a free day with no patients, ( I work in an orthodontic office), and instead of doing our usual no patient day duties, my boss told us all to go home, change into the junkiest clothes that we had and to come back..that we were all going to go and help someone clean out their flooded home ( this family happened to be patients at our ortho office).
Well, needless to say, none of us WANTED to do this!! After all the complaining that we did among ourselves, we all managed to go home and change and we all came back, piled into 2 vehicles and headed for the WORST part of the flood area. Personally, I never thought the National Guard would let us through to where we needed to go but, they did. So, as I looked out of the windows of the vehicle I was in and saw the desvastation, thoughts of the Flood of '72 from Hurricane Agnes, became very vivid in my mind. 
As the bunch of us trudged through the muddy streets carrying boxes of cleaning supplies, I thought, HOW could I have complained about coming here??? What else would I be doing that day, anyway?? I started to feel good about this whole idea. Well, just SEEING the look of relief on the people's faces to know they had some help, was enough for me. Even though none of us relished the idea of getting down and dirty in flood mud that day, it will be something that none of us will ever forget and it made me realize that we all need to help each other in any way that we can when someone needs it.

) something positive I did for the benefit for someone else was traded my Apple iPod Touch for an iPhone 3GS in return in a craigslist advertisement. When the interested buyer and I met up, I figured out that when we traded, my iPod Touch was to be a birthday present for the woman's younger daughter, and I know that she appreciated it.
Now, if I just gave it to her with nothing else in return, that would have been better, but I just couldn't do that...I liked it too much!

Going over to the family's tonight for our annual Christmas get-together. Most of us live here in Bay City, but two others are from Clarkston and even from Dublin, OH.

I can definitely think of a helpful, productive one, now to start off the new year.
I was at a basketball game earlier tonight sitting on pull-out bleachers and the woman sitting up above me dropped her iPhone about six feet onto the ground from where she was sitting. It bounced all the way down to the ground, and it looked like there was no way to get it back. Aware of the situation, I let my shyness overcome me and I voluntarily asked her if she would like it if I went under the bleachers and retrieved it for her. She seemed a little surprised, but I was up for a challenge.
I walked all the way down the bleachers to the wall (about six inches of clearance...) and I had to squeeze between the end of the bleachers and the wall to get underneath them. It was definitely a tight fight! Maybe I should have brought some butter along with me! Anyway, I squeezed through and grabbed the woman's iPhone. I got back up and handed it to her with no damage done to the phone.
I thought it was a GREAT idea that she had a large case on it. Otherwise, the screen definitely would have cracked or even shattered from such a fall. It was probably a Verizon iPhone, but hey, at least I did a good dead this year!

On the foot rest of the chairs where she told me she had arthritis and her foot had slipped And was great full I was nearby etc
