Just watched the Kentucky Derby and 50-1 long shot Mind that Bird just won by wide margin. One of biggest upsets in Derby history. Horse only cost $9,500 dollars and was running against million dollar ones. Good for him! Love an underdoghorse! 
You poor Texans and your weather. They broke in at the end of the Derby and showed photos where the Dallas Cowboys indoor training facility in Irving, TX had just collapsed from being blown down by wind. 4 people injured and no other details.
Yeah, I saw that...and some guy in that area on the illigimate sister site is blaming that rain for his UV TV going nuts.
Back to the horses, I don't approve of WHAT they do to them behind the scenes to MAKE them run...did you hear about all the ones that died recently because someone mixed their vitamin/stimulants/feed wrong? 
Polo horses, no different, IMO.

When I was 15-16 worked at a central Ohio harness track as a groom for a summer racing season. Actually lived there 6 days a week working 12-15 hrs per day. Back then you were allowed to "juice up" the horses and no drug testing done. In one month saw at least 5 horses drop dead right after the finish line. Really sick. Amish were there and slept with pitchforks in front of stall doors so no one would sneak up and give there horses a downer.
Fridays were payday and saw these long-term guys just shoot one roll of craps for their entire paychecks. Whole different world for me and taught me a lot about other side of life, and of course horses.
But I checked a known route and I know where more of them are located than this map shows. At my age that's a good thing.
