Friday yes! Hope we have as much good news this week as last week. The best to Show and Melody. also to anyone else that had a good week.
Just think almost 3 months of this year are history.

We are up here in Butte, MT getting things ready for next semester. Had an important lesson on winter driving coming up though. My car was shifting gears (automatic) and the back tires couldn't get traction again and sent us in a tailspin. We ended up in the ditch, but nobody was hurt. Had to call highway patrol which had to call a wrecker. He pulled us out and got us on our way. The car was vibrating a lot though so we found a Dodge place in the next town. They stuck it up on a hoist and didn't find any damage, minor or major. All he found was a whole bunch of dirt/mud packed in one of the rims of my back tires, he cleaned that out and got us back. That was all it was.
What was interesting though is that while we were in the ditch, we saw a water truck go by putting water down on the road. I am hoping it was salt water, but it made that stretch of road nothing but a sheet of ice.
Somebody was watching out for us as that could have been much, much worse. We did enjoy the satellite radio though on the way up - it was nice not having to find a new station in every town we get to.

We just returned home this evening after driving all day from Knoxville, Tennessee to Kansas City area. We would not normally have pushed that hard except that this big late winter storm is headed this way and we wanted to get home before the ice and snow hits. I'm amazingly alert after driving all that way. Our Camry Hybrid did well on this 2,800 mile trip.....43 miles per gallon. Not bad for a 3,900 lb. car plus two chubby adults....all our luggage and stuff.....and Alfie. Snow expected tomorrow. Our flowering trees are in bloom. Sure hope we don't get a hard freeze. It's 38 degrees outside right now.
I'm headed for bed. Will be shoveling or blowing snow tomorrow I expect. G'nite all.

Good to hear you made it home safely.
Koolkid get AAA if you don't already have it. If for no other reason then for the peace of mind. It is best when you don't have to use it because nothing happens. It is even better when you have a problem like yours. Glad that was your only problem. Always good when you can find time to post. Stay safe it can still snow in your area in June.

Man, KK, I don't know HOW you are dealing with that cold stuff! Kudos for escaping unharmed!
Nothing that exciting here except getting the A/C Control Head replaced, that I've had to save for since last Oct.! For the price (can't be fixed, of course), I could have bought a 40-46" LCD.

Glad that KK is ok after the spin out. We hunkered down all day today. Started out as rain and gradually switched through sleet to snow. Now we have about 5 inches on the ground. Guess we'll be putting the new little snow blower to use tomorrow. I'm glad we made that decision to drive all the way home from Tennessee yesterday. The driving would have been risky today.
Glad you had an uneventful drive from Tennessee. Be careful dealing with the slick snow at home. Glad to have you the wife and furkid back safely.

Hypocritical Animal Rights Group’s 2008 Disclosures Bring Pet Death Toll To 21,339
WASHINGTON DC – Today the nonprofit Center for Consumer Freedom (CCF) published documents online showing that People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) killed 95 percent of the adoptable pets in its care during 2008. Despite years of public outrage over its euthanasia program, the animal rights group kills an average of 5.8 pets every day at its Norfolk, VA headquarters.

They have a budget of $32 million dollars???????????
Those programs an Animal Planet, like Animal Cops in Houston, New York, Detroit etc, they are dependent on donations, do you know what they could do with a share of that $32 million???? That just pisses me off because those shelters adopt out more animals in a weeks time combined than PETA ever has since their existence! ![]()
And those shelters do so much more for a variety of animals with so much less, it isn't even funny.
I have never liked PETA. This confirms it even more.

We are very fortunate to have several shelters in the Kansas City area which have "no kill" policies. Just a few weeks ago a puppy mill here in Missouri was raided and 200 dogs......puppies up through adults....were recovered. They were mostly English Springer Spaniels and German Short Haired Pointers. Beautiful dogs. The recovered dogs were distributed to the various no-kill shelters for cleaning up.....neutering....and getting their shots. They were evaluated for behavior and then put up for adoption...a few at a time. I have not heard any recent reports on how many have been successfully adopted out. Maybe I should make some phone calls. Anyway....there are some good folks out there trying to do it right.

Ugh! I hate the new look of this forum. Everything is all squished together. Looks awful and it takes much longer to load now. Before, even with my Express internet it was almost instant.

This is new and improved!! Yea right. New and improved for who? Certainly not the members here or the potential customers. Oh yea, it's new for the designers, who have no clue at all.
And as usual, no one will listen to the complaints of the people who made this board the success it once was, notice I said once was. Because this board is dying.
So, to all I say adios, I am outta here. I don't feel like spending twice as much time here trying to just navigate around a board that used to be easy to read and get around on. Who needs it!
