Koolkid, those orthotics are LIFESAVERS! I was recently diagnosed with Plantar Fasciitis, which was from heel spurs; one foot was worse than the other. I've always worn good support shoes, no flip-flops or barefoot, but doc just said that is the way my feet are and I probably got it from someone in my family...why do all these ailments go back to family?![]()
I went for a check up after 6 mos. and doc was very pleased in that I no longer felt any pain. I have to wear them for the rest of my life...puts a crimp in finding shoes as far as finding ones that can accommodate your foot AND the orthotic, but I can live with it. Surgery wasn't really an option because I am old (says the doc, LOL!), but said it most likely wouldn't fix me anyway. Good luck, but at least you found out while you're young enough to stop further damage.
So, will your toenails grow back since you are young, or did they kill all across the cuticle and nail bed?
I knew a guy who had his pulled out when he was 12 as the doc said they would grow back since he was young; took until he was in his early 20's! But he never had another problem, had to make sure he cut them properly...they numbed with something primitive for the day, and pulled them out with pliers! He said there was blood spurting everywhere (from a 12 YO point of view).

Yea, didn't think it would hurt so bad being the toe is the furthest from the nerve area.
I asked my doctor about removing the nail and she said they are moving away from that because a lot of times, the nail just grows back. She did the cutdown on both sides for me last time and she said sometimes, when it grows completely out, it will be okay and that's what we are watching. It's grown back about 2/3 of the way right now.
Maybe UT is on to something and you should be staying in Houston. ![]()

See, Koolkid, nobody wants you to go! ![]()
Y'all are creeping me out about the toenail procedures...I've watched and sure don't want to experience it personally! Tooth problems are another area that can bring you to your knees.
In my younger years, I had 2 wisdom teeth pulled, the other 2 were impacted and had to be cut out! I had stitches in my mouth and it was creepy.

Nah, he gets up when he wants and I get up when I want. ![]()
Don't always get up at 4 though. Depends on when I go to sleep. Last night, I was out before 9, up at 11 (only for a few minutes) then up again around 2 and going back to bed shortly.
As long as we have no scheduled appt's, we dont worry about when we go to sleep or when we get up. ![]()

We got a call today from AT&T wanting to know when we wanted to cancel our U-verse. Apparently, the people who bought our house are getting U-verse and want to get the order in now. They can't start their order until they have a cancel order put in for us. We set the cut off date for the 6th which is the day after we leave. I told them our new address so they can send the boxes up to us.

You didn't tell us your house had sold. ![]()
I don't think there is anyone here, or at UU, who isn't going to miss you big time! You're our one-stop-shop for UV and Networking problems! I would have quit UV on day 2 if it weren't for your encouragement...
We know you'll be stopping in...but it won't be the same... ![]()

Yeah, we sold it on Monday. We have been so busy packing and everything that I don't get many chances to hop on my computer. It seems like there is just way too much to do in such a little amount of time. My room looks like a disaster as well as the rest of the house, which doesn't go good with my toe either.
I will miss you guys just as much as you will probably miss me. I am sure you guys will give a full review of the new features set to be released and report them here.
There was a recent news article on the FTTP network they are building in Powell. The internet tiers will start at 5Mb/s and go all the way up to 100Mb/s. The ONT they plan to use (700G) has a gigabit Ethernet port on it, as well as several other interfaces. The ONT can handle IPTV or tradional RF TV. It would be interesting if they go IPTV and use MediaRoom as the frontend on the STBs ![]()
Well, back to packing again I suppose. I will check in later

So --- Pip told me I didn't have to have UV to be here --- I have satellite right now. When we move to Conroe we wanted to see if they have UV.

I just meant that KK wouldn't have UV to test things for us...but know he'll have the knowledge without needing the equipment! See, we're already having withdrawal!![]()
And you don't have to have UV to be here, sandysu...you are always welcome here, especially since you are a Houstonian!![]()

Oh, I won't be leaving here or UU. I will still be checking in from time to time, probably as often as I do now for awhile.
Hopefully it will just stay the same for a long time. Its one thing to be handy and another thing to be willing to be helpful, that is what is prompting the posts that you are getting. You have shown yourself to be both and much much more. I haven't been around here nearly as long as others but in the time I have been here I have learned a lot from the info you have provided. You are really appreciated.

UU is having problems for me as well. I am going to bed early tonight. I just did my first of many epsom salt soakings, and I must say that it certainly isn't numb anymore! It stings like no other.
I will be here for as long as you guys will let me
If I am needed and am not around, you can PM me on UU (if it is up at the time) which sends me an E-mail, or you can PM me here and I will just give you my E-mail ![]()
Speaking of which, does anyone know if the AT&T E-mail addresses stay active after you cancel?

Looks like UU is working again...
Good luck with your toenails...are they going to grow back?
You know we don't want to see you go, so hope you'll be here often...
Don't know about the e-mails staying active as we were SBC, then switched to ATT (for the private wireless experimental dish thingy), back to SBC, then to UV...always stayed sbcglobal, but I never really technically cancelled (left the company).
