ATT & DirecTV reach agreement

Starting Jan 31, 09, DirecTV will replace Dish in ATT's Advanced TV video portfolio. ATT still has to fill the gap between UV markets with other bundled services. No word on when they will no longer need to offer other companies services.

Maybe they will include allowing ATT to launch some of the sports packages that dtv offers, in the agreement.

Wouldn't they have to reach an agreement with said provider of those services(ie; NFL, MLB, NHL, NBA), not DTV? But if so that would be nice.

It would depend on the broadcast deal that DTV has with them. imo ATT will be providing programming for the new dtv customers. The sport packages could be a part of the broadcast agreement. I don't have anything to backup this statement, it is just something that I thought about, that AT&T could be pursuing to appease the Uverse subscribers. It makes sense that AT&T would and should be doing all they can to get the most requested services and channels for their subscribers.
