Hi, first let me say that I am not that tech savvy so I apologize in advance for the errors below. I have a new work at home job and have to connect to a VPN for my work and I also have a Toshiba IP phone to connect. It was a nightmare connecting to the VPN, but I found an end run around it and that is resolved. Now I can't get the phone to work. It says it is searching for the IP address or connecting to IP address. I know this phone works b/c my company's IT tested it out and it worked fine for them. u-verse support is a total joke. They can't answer any of my questions and just try to sell me connecttech, which I already did once to work out my VPN issue and there were of zero help.

Yes, I plugged the phone cable into one of the 4 ethernet connections on the router. It is the 2wire router. No luck.

I have att 2wire 3600 router and had probems with my toshiba ipt2010-sd IP connection. You need to go into the router
and find your phone which you can tell which one it becaue the MAC address displays in the list of devices. Click on device and go to the bottom of page and check The DMZ Plus Mode and the phone takes off and communicates with IPU.

abbymama......Take a look at this although it's back from 2006. It lists the ports the IP phone uses and also some info on how the connection needs to be set up at your main office and at your home.

You could even look at implementing a cloud based telephone system for your work. It could save lot of time and cost and helps increasing the productivity widely.
