I am trying to install my uverse modem, and the steps seem straight-forward. However, upon powering up (with the yellow and green cables plugged in), the power and ethernet lights on the modem blink/go green, but the broadban light immediately starts blinking red and does not stop - even after waiting for 15 minutes. I tried a different phone jack in the house and that did not work. I was able to re-connect my old modem for my old internet service (which I have not canceled yet), and the internet works fine. Any tips?

Call TS using the phone number in my sig and ask there. If you get an uncooperative CSR politely end the call and call back to speak to a cooperative one.

What was your old Internet service? (DSL? Cable? Provider?)
How was it connected to your old modem?
Are you connecting the new modem to the same jack?

I am having exactly the same problem ... Broadband light blinking red... Called tech rebooted... And same problem? What now?
Did you connect the line(s) in your NID? When I got my self installation, the outside tech explained to me that they do not connect the wires in the NID that feed into the house, that is a part of the self-installation.

depending on the network type that you have, you are required to connect your residential gateway (modem) to either of the following:
Phone Line - uses normal phone cords
Broadband - looks like phone cord but normally bigger, called ethernet or lan cable/wire
of course, depending on the residential gateway (modem) you're using, the colors of the port depends:
***2Wire HGV 3800
Phone Line - green
Broadband - red
***motorola NVG510
Phone Line - green
Broadband - red
normally, phone line port is used by the cord from your wall to the modem but of course, we have to consider as well that your service is activated as well.
Feel free to send message for clarifications and kindly provide info as well...
Residential Gateway model and name:
Wire used (wire connected from the wall):
Thanks

On a self install for any 2wire devices, the same holds true. Connect the green cord in your self install kit from your phone jack to the modem in the green slot. Using the red slot on a self install requires manipulation of the NID (or possibly a newer one). Normally this is only used on FTTP tech installs or a last chance troubleshooting on FTTN accounts.
On a self install, if you have the green cord connected from a phone jack to the green slot on your modem, you're doing it right. I suppose you can try to go to the NID on the side of your house and connect it there to see if the issue is with home wiring.
