Just got my son a new Windows 8 computer and I am having issues connecting to my 2 Wire - does anyone have any tips?

Need more info. It should just be find the SSID of the 2wire device, enter the passphrase.

By more info, what exactly is the error message you are getting?

What kind of computer? Laptop or desktop? If it's a desktop.....are you sure it even has wireless capability? My recent model desktop does not so it has to be connected via Ethernet cable. I agree.....need more information.

It is a new E530 Lenovo ThinkPad laptop - all other systems are working fine. It has Windows 8 and a Intel Centrino N2230 Wlan card. Will connect wireless close to router now but not as we move away.

Probably a issue with the signal from the router. Download inSSIDer, which should run on win8, and see what the signal is like on the router, and how many other A/P's are aound you.

A good-dbm should be lower than 66, with channel 1, 7, 11 as possible. And yes, there are times that wifi cards in some laptops just suck really bad.
