Uvserse + Ps3 online gaming = TOTAL FAILURE!

For the past month I have been having major lagging and overall awful game play on my ps3 (FIFA 13). I contacted EA Sports (the maker of FIFA 13) who told me do a UO Trace. I did so, and sent them to results.

One agent told me that the issue lies at hop 6 (i.p address 12.83.82.137). He said that it seems that all data is lost there (that's an ATT server in Kansas - I live in ATL btw and the EA Servers are in San Francisco) 

He told me that apparently the route taken to the EA servers from my State is the problem. I must note that I did not have these issues up until ATT recent nationwide outage. That outage was about mid - late January. It seems as if upon fixing their issue they also re-routed the path from certain States to certain servers. Speaking with ATT online is a complete waste of time and ConnectTech is an even bigger waste. No body seems to be able to help and ATT continues to send me back to EA sports saying its their fault. It is not my ps3 or game as ive tried on a different ps3 and diff game on the same ATT network and the problems continue. I've tried my ps3 and game at a different house with diff ISP and there was no issue.

ATT refuses to accept that this is their issue and they refuse to find a way to fix it. So us gamers must suffer with this crazy Uverse service with their horrible pings. Any suggestions? And yes ive tried opening ports and DMZ and both did not fix the problem. This is definitely an issue with one or more of ATT servers on the way to the EA servers in California.

My son has never had any problems with online gaming on his PS3. Keep in mind, a lot depends on the servers, and where they are hosted from, along with how much traffic load they get.

From all appearances, it is a EA.com issues, and if they are hosted off the same server group as Netflix & Hulu, which are having issues again today, there is nothing really that ATT can do, because it is on the hosting company side, not on ATT's side.

What online games does your son play? What state does he live in? All these things matter. The route to the EA servers from my State may be different from the route to the EA servers where you/your son lives. It is an ATT issue because I have tried my console and game on a different ISP and there were no issues. ATT refuses to accept that this is their problem and they refuse to find a way to fix it. Again, this started happening around the time they had their nationwide outage (about 1 month an 2 weeks ago).  It is quite clear that since then, certain things have changed as it relates to their software and servers. Again, it seems that an ATT server in Kansas is down or giving issues. This is where my problem lies.

If you go back and look at the Traceroute, it is all outside the ATT system, so again, it is a issue on the EA.Com side. That means that the issue is due to too much user load, causing congestion.

Now of course, you can do a long term watch on a IP, with something like http://www.dslreports.com/smokeping, which you can let the test run for up to 14 days.

You just need to let the test run the full 14 days if you set it to do so. As for what it means, it means that there are no problems with the line between you and the server you are looking at, when you click on one of the three.

For some reason, the NY server has been down for a couple of years, it has always shown no results to that one, since that time.
