Had connectivity issues with Epson WorkForce 645 FAX. Attempted to get guidance from Tech Support, this Board, etc and got nowhere (eventually ended up with customer retention because of how awful the customer service experience was trying to get help, but I digress). In hopes of helping those with similar issues:
- I turned off V.34
- I turned off Error Correction Mode (ECM)
Worked OK for a FAX send after that (Have not verified if a FAX receive works).
AT&T attempts to say that "FAX machine configuration is a for-fee service", but in reality their network imposes setting on ALL FAX machines. They do not inform their user base what these network-imposed impacts are. So - - - V.34 is a generic standard, so if your FAX machine has a V.34 setting, turning it off may help (i.e.., AT&T U-verse voice may require it to be off). Not sure if ECM is an EPSON feature or another standard, but if your machine has an ECM, it might be worth trying to turn it off if you have similar issues.
Hope this helps at least one person so they don't need to experience the 60+ minutes of torture I just went through...

"Ren: Now listen, Cadet. I've got a job for you. See this button? Don't touch it! It's the History Eraser button, you fool!
Stimpy: So what'll happen?
Ren: That's just it. We don't know. Maybe something bad, maybe something good. I guess we'll never know, 'cause you're going to guard it. You won't touch it, will you?"
