I about to order U-Verse 12Mbit one, i need to get modem only (without built in WiFi, Router) something business grade not residential one. Tech i talked to on the phone said i cannot use any third party modems with U-Verse from ATT for some reason, and i am pretty sure i read on this forums that people used other modems.
I need something reliable like Netopiua 3347 was for DSL. I checked motorolla website and its kind of confusing, can someone tell me if you had success with any particular third party modems on u-verse?

"Ren: Now listen, Cadet. I've got a job for you. See this button? Don't touch it! It's the History Eraser button, you fool!
Stimpy: So what'll happen?
Ren: That's just it. We don't know. Maybe something bad, maybe something good. I guess we'll never know, 'cause you're going to guard it. You won't touch it, will you?"

Can't. Must use modem with AT&T firmware.

It seems like Motorola 2210-02-1ATT modem would be the correct modem for you. It has one port for a phone jack for your ADSL2+ service, one ethernet port to connect to your router (or PC/switch etc), and a power cord.
U-verse delivers two types of service, ADSL2+ and VDSL2. There is no option with VDSL2 for this type of 'modem only', however ADSL2+ does offer the 2210. Sales generally will not know how to place this order and you'll end up getting a NVG510 which has 4 ethernet ports, a built in firewall, and wireless routing capabilities.
They need to setup your account for modem not residential gateway.
The cost is a little bit less but still pricier than getting a modem from bestbuy or newegg. 75$ for the 2210. It's basically the equivilant of the Motorolla 3360 however that modem is for DSL only.
