Had a Tech out to look at the internet. Said the filter inside the box was going bad. So he put a new one in and then tells me i probably need to have new phone line run from the nid to the inside of the house. well i went out to see if i can run a short line to the nearest window to see if he was lieing or if there really need a new phone line run. well anyway the filter he has the phone line to is clear plastic on top with a screw on the top and grey on the bottom and dont look like you can unhook it. the only way i can see to do it is cut a long piece of the line that is hooked up and then use one of the phone brackets inside to screw it to. so should i do that or should i call them and have a tech guy come out and do it? not going to pay them $55 to run a new line and nail clips into the sideing of my house when i can buy the phone line cheaper then that and not be destructive to my house. plus if they run it and find out that it not the problem then i be out $55 that not going to happen.

It looks like there may be a bridge tap on your line. A bridge tap is an extra length of wire attached to your pair that doesn't terminate anywhere. It is usually left over from a previous customer that used your pair. Bridge taps cause problems with xDSL services.
You should call technical support, have them send a premises tech to your house to check the line. He should open a helper ticket with the Installation and Maintenance group (I&M), which are the linesmen, to come find and remove the bridge tap.

Based on the picture, that is a protector (sometimes called a carbon) which basically is a place to connect the inside wiring to the drop with a ground. It is designed to provide a ground path when there's excess voltage on either line. I wouldn't recommend trying to connect a line to that because it's normally not accessible to customers and not designed for that purpose. Normally you should have a filter installed with a test jack that would allow you to plug in a cord to test if its the inside wiring.

I don't know what makes you think there are video packets from those screen shots.
It sure does look like you've got a Bridge Tap on your line. Some offices seems to have more problems with dispatching techs and actually getting them to work on your lines than others. Maybe yours is not one of the best. If you continue to have problems, I'd suggest you send a PM to ATTAlexCM (click that link, and then click Send this user a private message). He will ask for your account number, your ticket number, etc.

Oh, that. Keep in mind that video can go over Ethernet and data can go over the HPNA/Coax.
I'd guess that the coax connector is unterminated (or worse yet, hooked to an unterminated length of Coax in your house) and you're experiencing enough noise that it increments the counters. I think you can turn off the Coax interface. You might want to do that.
I'm wondering why you have a 3801 (vs a 3600) without video service.

Corrected blocks are a bit higher than I would like, but no real issue.
The real question is: Is your service is working now?
